HomeChanges to make your swimming lessons even safer.
Duck and Dive will continue to maintain and prioritise as safe, compliant and welcoming environment as possible and will always act in accordance with state and federal advice guidelines and orders.
The Federal government made an announcement today that thankfully has not impacted swimming lessons too greatly. The positive news as we see it is that there is no quick fix to the Coronavirus situation which should hopefully quell the hysteria as we now all need to “dig in” for the long term game and make temporary adjustments to our lifestyle during this period of mitigation.
As a reminder, here are your trusted sources:
Correctly operated and maintained pools are safe.

Operational changes starting with immediate effect.
(These are temporary changes and will be revised on a regular basis).
Do not attend lessons if you or your child has a bad cough, cold or feel generally unwell. Whilst these are not symptoms of the Coronovirus, you should protect yourself from further infection as your own immunity will be weakened.
Social Distancing – observe the 1.5m distance guideline
There are to be no more spectators and only the person swimming the baby should attend.
Change your child 1.5m from the next person. There is sufficient space at every location to allow for this. Consider what others have already been doing:
Doing it “Sydney Style” – arrive ready to swim and leave with towels wrapped around them 🙂
Changing at their car or elsewhere in the centres
Bring an additional towel (not too big!) to “mark your spot” and place your gear.
Bring an additional towel to place over yours (or our) change mat. Handy if you are running low on wipes!
Lesson plans have been modified to allow for social distancing in the pool. There may be occasions when there is an avoidable and likely accidental breach as teachers clients and bubs are only human but trust that the changes will significantly mitigate. Work with each other!
Cleaning / Disinfection
All pools are regularly tested for correct chemical balancing (PH, chlorination, alkalinity) prior to the swim session taking place. This ensures they are SAFE and legally compliant as all commercial pools need to be.
Cleaning schedules have increased and include disinfection after each session ready for the next of:
door handles and hand rails.
mats and chairs
toys
Some doors may deliberately remain open to allow for non contact of door handles.
NO FOOD at any location either pool side or change rooms.
Refund / Make up Policy
We will refund, credit or make up (at your discretion) for any lessons we cannot operate due to closure
We will double our our make up allowance to 4 lessons per term (effective term 2)
In the event of closure, it is likely, given current guidelines that we would need to close a site for only 24 hours. In these circumstances future make ups for the current term will regretfully be void
Smell the Roses!
Now we know that this mitigation period is extending far beyond the original 2 week window everyone was thinking about, it is important to participate in activities that stimulate, enable social engagement and promote happiness & wellbeing.
