Introducing: The Duck and Dive Kids Swim Academy!

Is your child not progressing in their current lessons?

Are there just too many kids in the class that mean your child isn’t getting enough practice time?

Do the teachers provide constant feedback and correction to your child and delver lessons in a fun and engaging way?

The Swim Academy is the next progression for our little swimmers aged 5 to 10 years. (If your child is aged zero to 5 years, you need to go back to our baby swim school page)

At our Artarmon pool only.

What do we teach at the Academy?

• school age children 5 to 10 years *
• beginner through to advanced stroke correction

* we also offer private lessons to our students’ adult family members requiring adult foundation classes (nervous swimmers, buoyancy & breath control)

When do we teach?

• Tuesdays – 1715-2015
• Thursdays – 1715-2015
• Fridays – 1645-2015
• Mondays, Wednesdays – Not just yet, but we aim to teach these days as soon as demand grows (be sure to give us an “expression of interest” if these are the only days you can do)
• Holiday intensive classes – Coming soon

Why Duck & Dive Swim Academy?

• We DO NOT have large classes. Our teachers will always aim to provide simultaneous movement for maximum practice time. Classes of more than 1 are often beneficial to the child’s progress for a variety of reasons BUT for a child that is only participating in a lesson for 10 minutes (at other schools we are often told!), it is costing the parent 3 times the fee for a half hour lesson! NOT with Duck and Dive!
• We offer class ratios of 1:1 (exceptionally) and 1:2 or 1:3 predominantly. As your child’s skills and fitness progress, they will move up to a mini-squad class which still includes tuition and correction.
• Our teachers are exceptionally well trained, experienced, patient and teach “what is in front of them” rather than from a rigid lesson plan. They care about your child’s progression and you and your child will quickly trust in them.
• We are highly communicable as regards your child’s progress if you need to check on anything, you just have to ask us! This might be a few words at the end of lesson or a more in depth chat on the phone during office hours

What’s the cost?

• Base cost $35 per child, per half hour
• Private lessons / adult double the cost

How to book on?

We will need to know:

• current swimming ability
• swimming history (when, where, frequency)
• particular challenges or goals
