Specially designed sessions to allow the other carer or grandparent to come and have some fun family swim time!
A great opportunity to take your own photos too!
AquaPlay is a chance to extend your swim time beyond the regular 30 minute lesson but in a casual, relaxed environment. This is playtime for babies, toddlers and carers so not the usual structure of a class and of course the music will be pumping! You are welcome to take your own photos (strictly no underwater photography allowed). Here’s how it works….
The pool is split into 6 socially distanced sections
– 2 x noodle/mat/fin zones (1 with slide)
– 2 x platform sections
– 2 x inflatable floaty sections
Toys will be in sterilised buckets
Each section rotates every 7 minutes (take your bucket with you!)
Total run time 45 minutes
Cost $40 per family
These sessions are specifically to encourage partners and grandparents to be involved.
Each section may be occupied by a maximum of 2 carers, 1 baby and 1 sibling. All must be of the same family. (Consider whether this small space is appropriate if any of the family group is between 2 and 5).
All usual swimming lesson rules apply regarding nappies
Terms and conditions apply. Please read before you book
Your ticket is for your family group only.
Your group must be of the same family.
Children must be aged 0-3 years. Learn to swim children aged 3 to 5 who are Duck and Dive clients may attend under strict supervision.
There will be a mix of ages in the pool at any one time. Carers must respect their surroundings, other pool users, be responsible for their child and follow any instructions or requests from Duck and Dive staff. The pace of the sessions is generally calm and relaxed but there will be some splashing from older Ducks practicing their skills and we encourage this!
For parents with young babies, your child will one day be a confident little duck, splashing around confidently! For parents with older babies, remember how anxious you may have been with your little one when they were in the pool for the first time!? We operate a “no splash zone” for any carers who want to hold their baby and “chill out”.
No refunds for cancellations within 24 hours.
50% refund if cancelled outside of 24 hours.
No transfers to another event, you need to re-book and be refunded as above if applicable.
If you cannot attend, your booking may be transferred to another person ONLY if we are advised in advance.

You are required to take all your used nappies and personal rubbish away with you.
This is a community event which is advertised entirely through social media. This is where YOU will possibly have heard about it! Photography is essential to let others know of these events and will be taken by the event organiser for social media eg Facebook.
Nappies and Changing Baby
Strict rules must be observed with your baby or toddler’s attire whether potty trained or not. All babies must wear a disposable swimming nappy and then on top a SplashAbout Happy Nappy which must be the correct size, snugly fitting and fit for purpose (i.e. keeping running poos from leaking into the pool resulting in a possible pool closure). Any child not wearing this combination or an incorrectly fitting garment will be refused entry into the pool.
We advise that you change baby on the floor using a suitable changing mat and not to use any benches or trolleys that may be in the facility. Do not use any raised areas such as benches or tables. This is to prevent babies from rolling onto the floor from high surfaces which can easily happen and is extremely distressing for all concerned. Your use of anything other than the floor for changing is at your discretion.
Never attend if:
You or your child have any illness such as an ear infection, sickness/diarrhoea (unless clear for 48 hours), chicken pox, impetigo, conjunctivitis or a bad cold. Any open sores should be covered adequately at all times.
Never attend if:
You or your child has a runny nose, sore throat, cough or temperature.
Anything left anywhere is done so at your own risk with no liability held by Duck and Dive. If we find anything of value we will do our best to return this as soon as possible. Small items we find such as clothing or apparel (yours or baby’s) will be held in lost property for the remainder of term and then sent to Vinnies.
Occasionally the advertised toys/set up needs to change.
There are many swim lesson providers for babies and toddlers all over the city, offering different programs. Many other programs are based on water familiarity and building confidence through song and rhyme. At the Duck and Dive baby swim school we go beyond these basic stages, as we recognise the importance of survival skills and aim to nurture a lifelong love of the water…
