We’re currently taking baby swimming lesson enrolments for Term 1, 2020 at our Broadway, Artarmon and Kogarah pools. Term 1 will run from the end of January for 10 weeks to early April.
At Duck & Dive we specialise in baby swimming classes for 0 – 3 years of age and Learn to Swim programs for 3 to 6 years of age. Teaching your baby to swim not only gives them valuable life skills, but also builds their confidence in the water and is a genuine bonding experience for you both.
Through our fun and structured lessons, we teach parents and carers to swim with their babies in a warm, relaxed and calm environment, achieving essential skills for water safety.
We’ve developed a comprehensive lesson program based on over 15 years of experience, designed to introduce babies to the water and develop lifelong skills. For example;
holding on to the side of the pool
finding the water’s edge
floating on their backs
kicking their legs
paddling their arms
Have a quick look here if you have any questions – we’ve covered off most of them.
Important: All babies are required to wear a special Splashabout Happy Nappy without exception. We’ve found these nappies to be the most reliable for leak protection and can be purchased during enrolment, you’ll just need to know your babies’ weight so you can select the right size.
Just click “Add product” during the booking process and we’ll bring your Happy Nappy to your first lesson.
In addition to our swimming program we also run AquaPlay and CPR/first aid courses. Click on the links to find out more.
Babies over 12 months
All classes other than Beginners (Ducklings 2 to Ducks 9 and learn to swim 3 to 6 years) We still have some places available so please give us a ring to check if there’s a suitable class for you and your child.
We need to talk to you if:
baby is between 12 months and 3 years and you want to join an existing class
baby is less than 12 months and has had formal lessons and you would like a higher level than beginners
baby has swum with Duck and Dive before
baby has special needs
baby is less than an estimated 5.5 kilos at the start of term
term has already started. It is sometimes possible to join mid-term, if we can’t find a spot this term then we are always happy to add you to next term’s wait list
In short, we choose not to have a fully automated system as we’d prefer to have a quick chat prior to booking which also gives you the opportunity to ask any other questions you may have and make sure you are enrolled in the most suitable level. It’s really important to have baby in the right class for their ability and we can’t always make changes once term has started.
At Duck & Dive Baby Swim School we want you to be completely assured that we’re the right school for you and your baby. We want your baby swim classes to be amazing and this should be the start of a long and happy relationship!
There are many swim lesson providers for babies and toddlers all over the city, offering different programs. Many other programs are based on water familiarity and building confidence through song and rhyme. At the Duck and Dive baby swim school we go beyond these basic stages, as we recognise the importance of survival skills and aim to nurture a lifelong love of the water…
