Heads Up! An explanation about our weekend availability at Artarmon.
(the following does not apply to Kogarah….)
Weekend lessons are always very popular, demand will always exceed supply.
As a very small school we only operate at weekends with 1 lesson in the pool at a time unlike large aquatic centers that have multiples lessons and levels running simultaneously. But that’s one of the reasons people come to us, right…?
Behind the scenes, space is created for Ducklings 1’s (our first level) when kids aged around 3+ years move out of group class and into a learn to swim environment which does not operate at weekends.
The number of classes we can create for Ducklings 1’s at weekends varies each term – sometimes it can be 5+ classes or, other terms only 1 or even none! Essentially the number of classes we can create is out of our control.
Availability for new classes can only be worked out once all the current swimming clients have been placed and this is usually only a few days before our enrolment alert goes out.
Further, some terms we get such demand from midweek Duck and Dive clients needing to transition to weekends that a Ducklings 2 or 3 class is created which takes out the availability for a Ducklings 1.
In short, we can only do what we can with limited resources and sadly we cannot please everyone.
So, if you are 100% in need of weekend lessons and don’t want to run the risk of missing out swimming with your baby if you are unable to sign up with us straight away, it is advisable to look elsewhere. But read on first…..
You may wish to consider signing up for a midweek class and then seeing if we can transition you to a weekend class in the following term/s. Just be aware that we cannot offer any guarantee on timings for this.
Our core principle is that we are teaching YOU how to teach YOUR baby how to swim. Many of our clients swim midweek and then will swim recreationally at the weekends with the other carer, an opportunity for family fun and to share skills learned midweek with your partner!
For beginners less than 12 months old: As long as your baby is less than 12 months old as at the start of terms 1, 2, 3 or 4 we will continue to send you an invitation SMS to book on. So, eg if you miss out this time around and your baby is 6 months old, you will be contacted automatically again for next term when baby is 9 months old. (Note: once you become a client, at rebooking time each quarter we invite you to rebook on within a grace period).
For children aged 13 months – 3 yrs: We can waitlist you for a spot (subject to having a skills conversation with your first). Be mindful that weekend spots are first offered to current midweek clients wishing to transition to weekends.
For children aged 3+ yrs: We do not teach this age group at weekends at any of our pools. You will need to look elsewhere.
Fingers (and feathers!) crossed that we see you soon!
